According to the Camp Quest website, the values taught at Camp Quest are:
- integrity
- empathy
- creativity
- critical thinking
- community
The only letter shared by all five of these values is the letter 'T'.
This is unfortunate, because Muggy's cousin Bob does not like anything that contains the letter 'T'.
In an effort to rehabilitate Bob, the Camp Director at Camp Quest Arizona has decided to teach Bob to like the letter 'T', but in doing so she realizes that Bob dislikes not just 'T', but all of the letters in the word "COMMUNITY".
Before the start of the camp session, Bob has learned to like the letters 'T' and 'C'. He still dislikes the letters 'O', 'M', 'U', 'N', 'I', and 'Y'.
But the Camp Director has a plan. She would like Bob to come to CQAZ and stay in each of the camper cabins. If Bob stays in a different cabin each night of camp, he can be taught to like one additional letter at each cabin.
There are six letters which Bob still dislikes {OMUNIY}, and there are six camper cabins:
HOPI
NAVAJO
PAPAGO
PIMA
YAVAPAI
ZUNI
On Saturday night, the night before the campers arrive, the Camp Director realizes that these cabin names each contain one or more letters that Bob still dislikes, so he will not consent to stay in any of these cabins.
However, there are some volunteers staying in APACHE cabin, and Bob does not object to any of the letters in APACHE.
So the new plan is that Bob will stay in APACHE on Saturday night, learn to like one new letter, and then proceed to stay in each of the six camper cabins on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Bob says he is willing to stay in a cabin if it does not contain a letter he dislikes, and he is willing to learn to like one new letter at each new cabin, but only if the new cabin names shares at least one consonant with the cabin he stayed in the night before.
For example, the consonants in APACHE are {PCH}, so he will only learn a new letter at his next cabin if that cabin name contains a P,C, or H. Bob says 'Y' counts as a consonant.
Will this plan work? What letter must he learn to like on Saturday night in APACHE cabin? Which cabins will he stay in Sunday through Friday? Which letter must he learn to like at each of the cabins?
